The Dub Days Of Winter
The first thing you’ll notice is this mix is all Dubstep. Many people may not be aware of this genre of music, but the sounds used in Dubstep are quickly coming to the mainstream, most famously in Britney Spears new song, “Hold It Against Me.” I’ve been more and more interested in Dubstep since I first heard it 2 years ago when I listened to Herve’s mix, “Ghetto Bass” which can be found on Beatport HERE. One of my favorite tracks form that mix is “Hit That Gash” which is included in my mix with a little 50 Cent twist.
One of my main goals with this mix was to maintain music quality. In the day of the MP3, quality is on the back burner, but with a bass heavy genre like Dubstep, you really need to hold quality to a higher standard, especially if you really want to get that “Bump” in the trunk… of your car. There are 8 tracks on the CD that I used WAV files for and for as many of the MP3’s as possible, I didn’t time stretch as to not degrade the quality any more than it was degraded by the original MP3 conversion. Am I a music snob? Maybe… lol.
I know this mix will not appeal to everyone, but don’t worry, those of you who aren’t feeling this mix will soon have a regular top 40/house CD in their hands too! However, if you’ve been looking for something a little different than the normal songs you hear 5 times a day… This may be what you’ve been looking for. I’m really happy with how the mix came out and hope everyone enjoys it. Thanks for sharing the mix with your friends!!
