Inspired by the sounds of Bad Boy Bill, Bobby D, Julian Jumpin Perez, DJ Tragic, and Mixin Marc, DJ Kidj decided he wanted to make music of his own. At the age of 16, he bought his first set of turn tables, spending endless hours learning to beat match, blend and scratch in a way that is unique to his style of blending dance music, house, and hard house music.
But after seeing the amazing turn table skills of DJ AM, Kidj knew that he wanted to reach new levels in a wider variety of genres. With his own Hispanic background, he wanted to bring diverse sounds to his diverse crowds. And that is just what he has been doing for the last 7 years through live gigs, mix tapes, remixes, and now monthly podcasts.
In addition to being drawn to the rhythms and beats of music, Kidj also has an education in graphic design. Bringing graphic art to his cd covers, club flyers, corporate advertisements, company logos, and business cards add to his personal style and close attention to detail.
His hard work continues to pay off as he has performed for live crowds in Las Vegas, Puerto Vallarta, Chicago, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Texas, plus residencies at various local bars/clubs. You can look forward to hearing his recorded projects on FREAKONOMIX, iTunes, SoundCloud, and Reverb Nation.
